Before starting her company Alexxus Design, Lynn Rutan was Vice President of Marketing & Business Development for two local construction companies, and Director of Marketing for a local geotechnical engineering firm. In her past life, Lynn worked for many years in the retail industry, and spent 13 years in banking, winning awards for top sales and top customer service.
Lynn is a 14-year veteran in the A/E/C industry. She is past president of the Tampa Bay and Southwest Florida chapters of the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), and has been nominated for “President of the Year” on the national level. Lynn has held virtually every board and committee position, and has been involved with the SMPS Tampa Bay Charity Golf Tournament for nine years, chairing the event for the past six years.
Lynn has been a panelist for “Women in Construction”, a founding member of “Women in Architecture,” and currently serves on the Design-Build committee for AIA of Tampa Bay. She is a member of the Florida Education Facilities & Planning Association (FEFPA), SMPS, an allied member of AIA Tampa Bay, eWomenNetwork, and a graduate of Dale Carnegie. Lynn is frequently asked to do presentations for groups such as SMPS, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Women in Architecture Tampa Bay, architectural and construction firms.
